What are organoids?

Organoids are three-dimensional, organ-like cell models that can be generated from stem cells or organ-specific progenitor cells. They reproduce certain structural and functional characteristics of organs in vitro, providing more physiologically relevant models than conventional 2D cell cultures.

Organoids are used in areas such as disease modelling, drug discovery, toxicity testing and regenerative medicine.
