Immunis Sponsorship Update: First Research Progress from Nadine Kinz

In 2024, Nadine Kinz from the Biocenter Developmental Immunology at the Medical University of Innsbruck was awarded 1st place in the Immunis Sponsorship.

The sponsorship was created to support young researchers on their path toward innovative discoveries in immunology. More than 30 applications were evaluated by an expert panel based on scientific relevance, innovation, and feasibility.

Nadine impressed the jury with her project:

Investigating the Impact of Failed Apoptosis on B Cell Tumor Formation and the Tumor Microenvironment

Her research explores how failed apoptosis and resulting DNA damage may influence tumour formation. The aim is to better understand molecular mechanisms and help enable new therapeutic approaches in the future.

We are now pleased to receive a first update from the funded project. During the first year of sponsorship, important milestones have already been reached and key project objectives successfully completed.

“The Immunis Sponsorship has supported me with important experiments and materials.”
Nadine Kinz, MSc

We are proud to support Nadine on her scientific journey and wish her continued success in the next stages of her project.
